3 Lessons From Solstice of Heroes 2021

It's time

RNG Boxes Kinda Suck

u/TheAnduric on Reddit turned in 500 Solstice Packages. They got 78 armor pieces and 63 Compass Rose (shotgun). Roughly every 3rd Solstice package had something good.

The problem is it's more likely you get non-event items. They got 194 Enhancement cores, 2 Prisms, 10 Upgrade Modules, 99 Legendary shards and 1460 Planetary materials. Don't get me wrong, it's nice to get masterwork materials if you're low, but no one is playing the event for materials.

Blue Gear Needs to be Addressed

The WORST thing about their 500 Solstice Packages? They had to dismantle 417 blue items. It's beyond time for something to be done about blues.

They're completely useless and worsen the experience. Blues aren't needed anymore for infusion.

Blues go to your postmaster and have the same priority as the most valuable items in the game. Using your postmaster for extra storage? Didn't know you had an exotic drop?

Sorry! A worthless blue just deleted it.

There's no good reason blues are still in Destiny.

The Well is dry after 3 years

I love that the grind to upgrade and unlock the glows was improved each year. But the EAZ activity and getting loot boxes in 2021 feels outdated. The loot loop for boxes pushes you into dozens of hours in the EAZ over the 3-week event. As expected, everyone gets burnt out by the end of the 3 weeks. And then every year, it's the exact same.

The EAZ has been a fun activity but it's time to see the Solstice of Heroes evolve next year.
