Adept Igneous Hammer is the Trials of Osiris farm this week.

After a few weeks of most of the Destiny news being about Trials of Osiris, this should be the last of the changes for a while.

That means that Trials is (actually!) in a pretty good place. It took a LONG time and a lot of emotions to be able to say that.

So what’s happening?

Trials Labs

An experimental, objective-based version of Trials will be available between September 24th’s daily reset and weekly reset on September 28th.

Basically, everything is the exact same but a Control point will appear after 30 seconds each round.

The point will spawn in the center of the map Round 1 before moving to random places around the map each round after. Where it spawns will favor the team that lost the previous round. (I fully expect these to be pretty predictable after a while).

Double Trials Points

This weekend, you’ll get double the Trials rank points than a normal weekend. This is the perfect time to get a rank reset before Trials is gone a week because of Iron Banner.

Trials Gone For One Week

With Iron Banner coming back next week (the week of September 28th), Trials will be gone that weekend. Trials of Osiris will return on October 8th.

The Trials’ “Baby Bear” of Matchmaking

The opening weekend of Trials was too good of an experience for Flawless players that stomp players. The second weekend swung too far in the opposite direction.

Matchmaking should now be just right.

  • Bungie found that Week 1 had way too many 5-0 stomps - about 38%. This dropped to 29% in Week 2.

  • In Week 1, solo players only won 23% of matches vs a massive leap to 36% in Week 2.

  • 34% fewer matches were played in Week 2 compared to Week 1. The changes forced a lot of average-skill players out of Trials.

The Flawless pool will be enabled at reset on Sundays. This gives Flawless players two days to farm and two days for players that need help going Flawless.

Have a great weekend!
