☕Breaking Trials of Osiris Milestones

Trials is now fully baked

The votes are in. Trials of Osiris launched to a HUGE success.

Over 4,000,000 matches were played with just under 24 hours left according to Trials Report.

The record has never been beaten since Trials’ opening week in Destiny 1 with 3,800,000 players.

That’s insane!

Almost everyone is enjoying Trials of Osiris right now. I heard some really good reports from people on Twitter.

The general consensus is that everyone is getting loot often. Even solo players like myself were getting more rewards than used to from Trials.

Trials is likely to get a little bit of matchmaking tweaks soon though. A lot of matches had solo players up against 3 stacks, which doesn’t feel good for either team.

I imagine Bungie wanted to prioritize fast queue times for the best Trials experience on opening weekend. Most likely, we’ll see some tweaks so stacked teams are more likely to face other stacked teams.

if that change happens to matchmaking, it really doesn’t seem necessary to have a Freelance mode later, does it?

Trials Report found that about 34% of Trials matches were played with solo players. If Freelance Trials gets added, at the minimum, 34% of players would leave the currently very healthy Trials player pool. Many more would also flee to Freelance and just never group with anyone like what happened with Iron Banner Freelance.

For me personally, I haven’t actively played with friends or another player in over a year. Everything can be matchmade or filled instantly with LFG. HOnestly, Destiny felt really lonely.

This weekend, I played over 130 Trials matches with old and new friends and loved every second of it.

That’d be gone once Freelance gets added.

Did you get anything good from Trials?

Have a good rest of your day!
