☕I hope your coffee is iced like mine. It’s been a hot 24 hours for the Destiny community.
What’s the New Destiny Controversy?
Name a more iconic duo than Destiny and drama.
It hasn’t even been two weeks since Bungie announced all of the Destiny content that was going to be vaulted. The idea of content you purchased being removed from the game is still fresh in players’ minds.
Yesterday, Bungie Community Manager Cozmo answered a Reddit post about dungeons during the Witch Queen expansion. Cozmo said:
Hey everyone. We’ve seen some debate around the new dungeon content and wanted to clarify how it will be delivered next year.
If you get the Digital Deluxe Edition of The Witch Queen you will receive the expansion, all four Seasons for the next year, and the two Dungeons. If you get the Standard Edition, you can still upgrade to the Deluxe Edition to get the dungeons later. We will also be offering a separate way for you to purchase the Dungeons in the future, but they will not be included in the Season passes.
We will share more info on this closer to when this content is set to go live.
Dungeons have been content in the season pass or in the yearly expansions. They haven’t been extra you have to purchase.
It’s All About Trust
Why Destiny players are upset about the Deluxe Edition is about trust. Trust is everything.
WQ / Deluxe was announced 2 months ago. Pricing was established & what you get in return.
If dungeons move from base price to the premium price, what else will change?

Like I said on Twitter, it’s all about trust. Content that was previously included with your purchase now needing to be purchased separately needs to be clearly communicated.
Not two months after pricing was announced and pre-orders were accepted.
Terrible Timing
This should have been made clear two months ago. You know, in the extensive blog post that Bungie posted about the Witch Queen expansion (where there’s no mention about dungeons at all).
Even worse, the Destiny Content Vault blow still stings for many players. Players are warier than ever with their money when it’s only a matter of time until more paid content gets removed.

I wish I had more value to add but you need to know the Destiny news. Especially when it’s about clearly understanding what you’re paying for.
