Airborne Effectiveness Buffs Coming Soon

You and I both knew AE came out way too weak. It turns out Bungie knew as well.

They always intended to release a conservative version so they could improve it over time.

The Destiny playerbase consistently trends on Twitter when something is nerfed. Especially when some go so far as to harass developers to the point they leave the platform. Making every upcoming AE change a buff makes sense.

Primary Weapons are getting the largest AE buffs - both accuracy and aim assist. Specific exotics like Monte Carlo, SUROS, Forerunner, and Whisper of the Worm (← wtf?) are getting extra, intrinsic AE.

Mark my words. There will be more AE buffs coming until it’s A) close to what it was in Season 16 or B) the community finds something more important.

Weapon Buffs & Nerfs (PvP & PvE)

Almost every single change below is a buff for a lot of underused, bad weapon archetypes. There are only a couple of nerfs.

180 RPM Hand Cannons

  • Body shot damage increased from 37 to 40

  • Precision damage increased from 57 to 60

Both of these changes will be applied in PvE and PvP, improving your time-to-kill. If you’re a fan of 180s, you’ll have an easier time competing.

450 RPM Auto Rifles

  • Body shot damage increased from 19 to 20

  • Precision shot multiplier increased from 1.5 to 1.6

I don’t really think this does much for 450 Auto Rifles. There’s also not many available. Shadow Price and Firefright being ones most will have.

180 RPM Scout Rifles

  • Body shot damage increased from 34 to 38

  • Precision damage increased from 54.4 to 60.8

This is a huge change for one of my favorite Scout Archetypes! The most common ones being Hung Jury and Vision of Confluence.

Both of these are favorites in PvE. These buffs make them even better for those of you preparing for Grandmaster Nightfalls next week.

150 RPM Scout Rifles

  • Body shot damage increased from 38.2 to 42

  • Precision damage increased from 66.9 to 73.5

Pellet Shotguns

  • A HUGE 25% damage buff in PvE

They’ll still only be viable in Master content and below though. At least until you can build into more survivability in close-quarters-combat.

Linear Fusion Rifles

  • The PvP flinch penalities are removed from PvE

Lorentz Driver

  • Aim assist nerfed to 22 from 32

  • Decreased suction against players😳

Gjallarhorn

  • No longer has proximity detonation

This is a ~10-15% damage buff in PvE. With the proximity detonation, impact damage of the physical rocket was missing on targets.

This only hurts PvP where no one likes dozens of Wolfpack Rounds in their face.

The Last Word

  • Precision aim nerfs on controller when hipfiring

  • Reduced damage and aim assist falloff distance by 3m

The Last Word now requires more precision to weild. It’ll only be strong in close-range where it will still dominate.

Warmind Cells DIED for this Solar 3.0 Build to RISE

Xur

Xur can be found in the Watcher’s Grave on Nessus. The Insurmountable Skullfort is a great roll to get for Arc 3.0 next season.

Also, get the Falling Guillotine if you don’t already have a great roll.
