Guardian Games Review

Guardian Games kicked off on Tuesday with a major bug!

The Title, the Void SMG reward for the event, was not dropping at all. It was quickly patched, but that wasn’t the only disappointing thing.

Even with some improvements to the event, Guardian Games feels more shallow year after year.

The first year in 2020 was exciting! Class versus Class was something we always dreamed of.

The problem is the backend balancing. Instead of a Class competition with stakes, the event’s winner feels predetermined before it begins.

Then there’s the overplayed gameplay loop of having to play old content to get enough currency for the new content.

To top it all off, The Title is an average Void SMG that can’t compete with Funnelweb, a better Void SMG that was also released this season.

I logged in to check out the event and that was about it. I’ve been playing other games like Deep Rock Galactic’s Season 2.
