☕Want to Win Freelance Trials?
Try THESE!
☕Whatever your reason for playing solo, anyone can still win Trials solo and get the loot that we all want.

As someone that plays solo more than not, it's a lot harder to get the Trials loot that I really want.
Here are 10 things that have helped me win more Trials matches and get the loot that I'm after.
1) Use Your Primary
This has had one of the largest impacts on winning solo Trials matches. It's maybe only topped by number 7 on this list. Using your primary to start every engagement instead of your special is just that important.
The reason why using your primary first is so important is because most of us aren't as good as we think we are. Most of us aren't so consistent with a sniper or shotgun that you can rely on it in the high-pressure situations Trials forces on you.
When those moments happen, your sniper gets flinched around, making it impossible to land a shot. Or your shotgun isn't in the range you need for a kill.
Using a primary that you're comfortable and confident with means that you have a more reliable tool. Keep your primary out, play corners and cover, and always have an exit strategy ready for Shotgun Apes🦧.
2) Use Comms
This one can be really hit or miss depending on your circumstances, so I'll make this one short. Everyone has access to an in-game team chat that's shared between everyone on the team - even if you're on different platforms.
On PC, it's a little awkward to make sure you have the correct settings on, but everyone just needs to join Team Voice for it to work.
Also on PC, you can use text chat, which console players are getting in a couple of months. This is a good option for people without a mic or if you just don't feel comfortable using a mic.
3) Play For Revive
Getting a revive instead of a kill can be one of the best decisions you make.
But most people make the wrong decision.
In a 1v1, play for the revive if:
The other team won’t be able to freely revive more players
The revive isn’t in a position for you to easily die
You can safely get more revives than they can
4) Guard Enemy Revives
Just like playing for your team’s revives, you need to prevent the other team from reviving.
So many easy matches get thrown away by letting the other team revive for free. I’ve seen many easy 3v1 or 2v1 rounds go up in smoke because we forgot where the enemy revive-orbs are.
5) Play Supers
There are two parts to this:
Play around your supers
Communicate when you’re going to use yours that round
Don’t use yours if a teammate said they’re going to use theirs UNLESS its to secure your 4th or 5th round win
Save shutdown supers for enemy roaming supers
If you have more supers, use them to secure the win but don’t commit too many if you’re going to be at a super disadvantage
Play around their supers
If they have a super advantage, play passively to build your supers
If they pop a roaming super, rotate around the map, hug walls and corners, and bait it through chokepoints to burn its time and make it an easy target for team shotting
If you have a roaming super, be careful of their shutdown supers
6) Pick Off Lone Wolves
This is how I get most of my kills. There’s always that player that plays no where near their teammates.
Cut them off from their allies and collapse on the player for an easy, risk-free kill. Now you have a 3v2 life advantage.
Don’t squander it.
Collapse on the last 2 as a team and you’ll easily overpower them.
7) Don't Lone Wolf
On the opposite side of the coin, don’t put yourself in a lone wolf situation where they can freely collapse on you.
Now you’ve left your team in a 2v3 situation. You know you want to do this. To get that cool clip of killing the entire team by yourself.
Do you want to look cool or do you want to win?
This leads to the next tip.
8) Prioritize Your Life
Always assume that you’re the most important player on the team. If you die, the team loses. Play like this.
Take engagements that you’re most likely to win
Don’t take fights that are a coin flip of you winning
It’s better for you to stay alive and not get a kill than you to die (even if you get the kill)
9) Take Winnable Fights
To prioritize your life, you should only take fights that you’re sure to win. That often means using everything in your power to win.
Shatterdive a cornered opponent
Take unfair fights against one player with you and a teammate or your entire team
Use a shutdown super to guarantee a kill for a 3v2
10) Get the Most Out of Your Super
I see so many wasted supers in Trials.
Missle Titans wasting their super on a player instead of saving it to counter the Shadebinder
Sunbreakers running with their super against a Revenant
Almost any super trying to counter a Shadebinder right now (please nerf Shadebinder tracking😠)
Do me a favor and share this with your friends 🥺
I’m going to play more Freelance Trials this weekend. Keep watching Twitter and YouTube for more tips that will help you get more solo wins.
Have a great day!
