☕Win MORE Trials of Osiris on Bannerfall

One of the toughest Trials maps

☕Let’s have morning coffee together

50% LESS people have gone Flawless this week. A lot of players have stopped playing and it’s now harder to get loot.

Here are 3 things that will help you win.

Map Control

The most important thing that’ll win you matches is map control.

Bannerfall is a huge map with a bunch of lines of sight. Map Control forces fights that you want to have and puts the other team in the challenging position of having to take fights they're more likely to lose.

Taking a power position in Courtyard with the tree gives you a large area to move around in. The other team has to come to you through predictable choke points.

Spread out and you can cover every angle and the other team is as good as fish in a barrel.

Don't get greedy here. They're exactly where you want them.

Wait for them to come towards you and you and your teammates. Even if you're playing solo, they’re easy teamshot kills.

How Do You Reclaim Map Control?

It's great if you're handed map control freely, but what do you do if you don't have it?

The honest answer is you need to try and capitalize on a mistake the other team is making.

The best way to do this is to move around the map as best as you (safely) can. Like you're stirring a pot.

The idea is to keep rotating around and poking at them to make them move too.

Your goal is to keep moving them around. Most players rotate too slowly & you can pick them off. That first kill opens the floodgates to pounce on the remaining players.

This isn't going to work easily against stacked teams that are significantly above your skill level. If you're running into those types of opponents solo, it’s time to join other players.

With text chat coming to consoles in the next couple months, communicating with others players is going to be even easier to do and won't require a mic. You can also check out D2Sanctuary for an amazing and safe community to play in where you can play with others and not leave your comfort zones.

Primaries Win Matches

One of the worst things you can do on Bannerfall is take silly sniper duels like the catwalk at the start. These are high risk, high reward fights that can cost you big.

The best case scenario is you win and its difficult for them to revive. The worst case is that YOU get picked off and now your team is caught fighting a 2v3.

Avoid the popular sniper lanes and take up power positions with your primary out. With sniper flinch, you win most primary vs sniper fights.

Having a primary-first mindset is also good against shotguns.

Shotgun players are forced through open areas to reach you.

Strong primary options to use on Bannerfall are:

  • Dead Man's Tale with catalyst

  • The Darkest Before (Prophecy)

  • Vex Mythoclast (Vault of Glass)

  • Ace of Spades (quest)

  • The Messenger (Trials of Osiris)

  • Extended Mag Igneous Hammer (Trials of Osiris) is my go-to

Whichever primary fits your preference and playstyle, make sure to lead with it into engagements. You can take advantage of a lot of players maining their special weapons instead.

Punish Mistakes

If you're:

  1. Moving around the map

  2. Forcing the other team to move around to meet you

  3. Using your primary first

You’ve got the perfect recipe.

They’ll make a mistake rotating around and you can punish them for it. Here are some things to look out for:

  1. A Player Not Moving With Their Team: This player is out of position meaning you can take this 1v1 without risk of their teammates joining. Most of the time, you can choose when to start the fight. It's like in a movie when the person is in the middle of the wilderness at night, sitting by a campfire but theirs a wolf moving around in the darkness. They can't quite tell where the wolf is going to attack from or when the wolf is going to strike. You're the wolf.

  2. While They’re Moving: When players are moving, they're either jumping through the air, which makes their movement predictable and their accuracy worse, or they're running on the ground out in the open away from cover. These are both perfect situations you can use for easy wins.

  3. Unaware players: If they're sniping or dueling a teammate, they can't see their radar. When you're moving around the map with your primary, you can surprise them from an angle they don't expect. Get that free kill.

Do me a favor and share this with your friends 🥺

Trials needs more players playing to be fun. Players winning more means playing more.

Have a great day!
